Z jednej strony można by wymienić takie zalety jak: większa możliwość i różnorodność spędzania wolnego czasu, lepsze połączenia komunikacji miejskiej, więcej ofert pracy oraz lepsze możliwości studiowania. Takie dogodności na pewno przyciągają osoby niezależne, tudzież studentów czy tzw. „singlów”. Jednakże w wielkim mieście jest znacznie niebezpieczniej, na ulicach czy w sklepach spotyka się masę ludzi, ciągle odczuwa się pośpiech, a korki uliczne frustrują. Dlatego coraz częściej zauważa się taką oto zależność: osoby, które postanawiają założyć rodzinę przenoszą się z wielkich miast do miasteczek lub na wieś, gdzie jest bezpieczniej.
W małych miejscowościach ludzie się znają, więc brak jest tzw. anonimowości społecznej, a co za tym idzie wskaźnik przestępstw jest mniejszy. Brak owej anonimowości korzystnie wpływa również na szkolnictwo. Uczniowie są bardziej bezpieczni, gdyż rzadko kiedy osoby nieznajome mogą przebywać na terenie szkoły. Ponadto klasy nie są przepełnione, co daję większą możliwość aktywnego uczestnictwa w zajęciach szkolnych. Ale niestety i takie życie ma swoje minusy. W miasteczkach komunikacja miejska jest gorzej zorganizowana. A o pracę coraz ciężej, zwłaszcza na obszarach wiejskich. Ponadto dostęp do dóbr kultury jest ograniczony.

After the presentation one topic came up, and we tried to take into account advantages and disadvantages of living in big city. Which place is better to live – big city, small town or village? It was hard to get one conclusion. Definitely it is individual issue. On one hand, for singles and students big city is perfect place, because of its big offer how to spend free time. There are cinemas, theatres, museums, concerts and other ways of entertainment. Besides, there are a lot of possibilities of shopping and it is much easier to find a job. Big advantage is fact that the public transport is developed quiet well.
But on the other hand, there are some disadvantaged of living in a big city. Pavements and buses are crowded, car parks are always full, and what is more, the traffic is heavy. But the biggest disadvantage is the lack of safety. Because of high rate of crimes, big cities are not attractive to live in for families.
In the country or small town the problem of crime isn’t so big. Inhabitants usually know each other well. In spite of having low salary and small variety of products in shops, the living costs are much lower. But the biggest advantage of living in the country is well-developed primary and secondary school system. Classes are not overcrowded. Due to this fact children and teenager have more opportunity to be more active during the lessons.
To sum up, both living in big city and in the country have some advantages and disadvantages. And it is individual issue which place one will choose to live in.
