27 stycznia br. po raz kolejny spotkaliśmy się w ramach warsztatów języka angielskiego "Culture in English - at 5 o'clock".Tematem przewodnim spotkania była sztuka...
Następnie Ania Cieplińska zaprezentowała nam swoje obrazy, szkice oraz torebki ręcznie malowane. Ania chciała podzielić się z nami swoją artystyczną pasją i doświadczeniem jakie zdobyła w Anglii w trakcie kursu zdobnictwa sztuki użytkowej.
To właśnie sztuka sprawia, że nasze życie jest piękniejsze i dlatego jest jego nieodłączną częścią. Ponadto sztuka staje się dla człowieka przyjemnością intelektualną. Jest ona zjawiskiem społecznym i może spełniać różne funkcje, ale przede wszystkim spełnia tę podstawową - estetyczną.

Also we had the opportunity to listen to the presentation of Vanessa. She told us about English art, such as painting, architecture and photography. It was unique presentation, because Vanessa is an English native speaker. She explained us how English painting looked like in particular periods of English history, for instance in Tudor Period (1485-1603) or Stuart Period (1603-1649 and 1660-1714). Besides she mentioned about typical for English architecture monuments and building, such as Stonehenge, Saint Paul Cathedral in London or Woburn Abbey which is the seat of the Duke of Bedford. As an example of English photography Vanessa underlined the oeuvre of Michael Kenna, Emma Barton and Edwin Smith.
After the presentation Ania Cieplińska present us her own paintings, drawings and craft such as painted bags. Ania is an artist, she is graduated in history of art and she became a painter as well. Few years ago she was in England where she took a course of adornment and now is using learnt techniques.
At the end we took a little discussion about role of art in one's life. We agreed that the art has great impact on our souls and feelings. It does forms our outlook and enriches our inner world. To sum up, art makes us think of the sense of life, how people must live and what is ideal of beauty. It helps us to understand outside world and each others.
